We have also set up software that uses the Royal Mail Postcode Address File (PAF) of 28 million UK addresses. The PAF database not only holds up-to-date address information, it also can be used to determine geographical information for each address automatically as it is entered, e.g. location (lattitute & longitude), local health authority etc. This can be useful for sites and applications that need to allocate clients based on location, or GPS software, or work with Google Maps, or to find nearest service company etc, etc.
