Caddington Parish Council

Caddington is a village in South Bedfordshire. The local parish council wanted their website revised so that they could keep parishioners informed about the council's work. Previously they had had to use someone to edit their website regularly and this was expensive and rather slow. With our site administrators can log in and easily update the website instantly, without any html expertise. The site uses a content management system we designed for OurParishCouncil.org. As the parish council web site is a public service, it needed to be accessible to all. Text size and colour is changeable to help visually impaired users.
Objectives
  • Provide local people with up to date information from the parish council, plus local facilities and events.
  • Let members of the public contact the council by using a dynamic coded enquiry form.
  • Completely dynamic site, council administrators can log on and upload news articles, photos, notices, council reports, event information, meetings, etc
  • The website is very flexible and is updated with information regarding Caddington on a regular basis.
  • Due to the website being parish council funded, accessibility is a big issue. The website needs to be accessible to the visually impaired.
Features
  • Administrators are in full control of the sites content, despite having no html expertise
  • Users have the option to enlarge text and change colours, to aid visually impaired.
  • Visitors can download seasonal newsletters in PDF format.
