Who can use Presstream? The Presstream mailing service from Royal Mail is available for clients that regularly publish newsletters, journals and periodicals. This includes client magazines but excludes catalogues. The service is very similar to Mailsort in that it has volume and postcode accuracy requirements. Improved Discounts Presstream offer more attractive discounts compared to Mailsort 1 & 2. As well as Royal Mail's standard Presstream discounts, they can offer a further discount known as Profile Pricing. NB There is no Presstream equivalent to the Mailsort 3 service, so where a 7 working day delivery is allowable Mailsort 3 may be a more cost-effective option. Why does Royal Mail discount Presstream? Royal Mail required Presstream mailings to be sorted into specific selected postcode areas using a complex sortation based on a database of postcodes and areas set by Royal Mail. As the mail is part sorted and can be routed more efficiently through Royal Mail, they pass on some of the cost savings as a postage discount.
